Start Up Grants For Young Artists
artsACT offers Start Up grants of $500 to young ACT artists for activities that assist, encourage, develop, or promote the artist and their arts practice.
Start-Up Grants are designed to assist young artists with an activity that will develop their arts practice. Activities could include promotion costs, materials, documentation, and venue and equipment hire costs associated with an arts activity.
Funding cannot be used for artist's fees.

Eligibility
To be eligible for Start-Up Grants for Young Artists you must:
- be aged between 18 and 25 years
- be an ACT resident or have an ACT-based arts practice
- have not previously received a grant from artsACT
Start-Up Grants are for individual artists. Groups and organisations cannot apply.
When are Start-Up Grants available?
In 2011 there were two rounds of Start-Up Grants. artsACT anticipates that Start-Up Grants for Young Artists will again be offered in late 2012.
Period of Funding
Start-Up Grants for Young Artists must be expended within six months of the grant round closing date, and an acquittal provided to artsACT within one month of the grant being expended.
