Vibrant Colours of Cornwall

Exhibition by Val Johnson

When: 26 July - 19 August

Where: Strathnairn Arts Association Gallery 1

‘The idea of ‘Colours of Cornwall’ has been on my mind since I travelled there in 2010. It has simmered away until my visit to Cornwall again in 2016. The idea finally came to fruition.. To me the Cornwall coast is so colourful with its whitewashed houses, blue waters, yellow sand and colourful boats, and that is what appealed to me most.
I love to paint and I love to travel. Travelling in Australia and overseas has been the inspiration for many of my solo exhibitions. Oils are my favourite medium, but I find pen and watercolour useful for my sketchbook diaries while travelling. I am passionate about drawing and believe that it gives strength to painting. I am seldom without my sketchbook, as a face or a moment can appear at any time. I am an intuitive painter. My work is entirely individual and painted with a passion for the subject.’

The official opening will be held 4pm, Saturday 28 July.
