Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Empire Global Art Award is open to artists and craftspeople who are 18 years and over and residents of Canberra or the Canberra region (including Queanbeyan, Braidwood, Goulburn, Yass, and Cooma). Works in any medium may be entered. All work must be original and completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited in the ACT.

The Award has a $4000 cash prize and follows in a long tradition of supporting emerging and established artists.

The theme for the 2017 Award is taken from Mahatma Gandhi who said, ‘The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.’

All artworks must be delivered to the Tuggeranong Arts Centre on Monday 31 July 2017 between 10am and 5pm. An exhibition of selected works will be on display in the Gallery for one month following the Official Opening and Awards Announcement on Thursday 3 August. Unsold works must be collected by midday on the Monday 4 September.
