Innovative contemporary ceramic artworks from Ernabella Arts in the APY Lands, Erub Arts in the Torres Strait, Girringun Aboriginal Art Centre in Far North Queensland, Hermannsburg Potters in the Central Desert and Tiwi Design on Bathurst Island.
Kelli Cole, Assistant Curator of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art at the National Gallery of Australia will officially launch the exhibition.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Strathnairn Arts Association will host a special one day workshop with guest artists Jimmy Kenny Thaiday from Erub Arts on Darnley Island in the Torres Strait and Pepai Jangala Carroll, Thomas Ilytjari Tjilya, and Derek Jungarrayi Thompson from Ernabella Arts in the APY Lands.
The demonstration/participation workshop will cover the techniques of carving, slab construction, and sgraffito. Participants will be able to observe artists at work and then apply these techniques to their own tiles. All materials will be provided however participants are welcome to bring their own tools.
