Whatever Floats Your Horse
When: 10am-2pm, Saturday 25 November, 2017
Where: Lake Tuggeranong,Tuggeranong Arts Centre
On Saturday 25 of November, Tuggeranong Arts Centre will enliven the banks of Lake Tuggeranong with a day of fun and entertainment hosted by comedian Kevin Kropinyeri. Whatever Floats Your Horse will feature music, dance and activities for families, pets and the whole Tuggeranong community.
The event will give Tuggeranong locals and other visitors a chance to head down to the lakefront and enjoy a coffee or gelato and free entertainment by the water with our favourite Royal, The Queen herself. Her Majesty will be knighting deserving corgis (and other dogs) who come along and put their best paw forward.
On stage, Kropinyeri will keep crowds entertained and will be joined by two emerging Indigenous comedians from the Canberra heat of the Deadly Funny comedy competition, on at TAC the previous Friday, to help host a jam-packed line-up of entertainment. Running from 10am-2pm, stage performances will include; Mr. Tim & The Fuzzy Elbows, Xtreme Stars, Dance for Wellbeing, BellyUp Belly Dance, Fresh Funk, The Funkologists and more.
Drawing inspiration from TAC’s 2017 theme ‘Animals,’ there will be activities for humans and their furry (or scaled, or feathered) friends alike. TAC will also be launching their community art project ‘The Horse Float of Ideas’ – which is currently seeing an old horse float transformed into a unique, relocatable, experimental art space by local artists and community groups.
For early birds, at 8am, Tuggeranong Parkrun will be doing a special animal-themed dash around Lake Tuggeranong followed by yoga at 9am and Zumba at 9.30am with Fernwood Fitness.
Free children’s activities, a pet beauty pageant, pet photo booth, market stalls and more will also be available.
