BELCONNEN ARTS CENTRE PUBLIC ARTWORK Expressions of Interest are invited from artists to design, fabricate and install a LANDMARK public artwork to be sited on Emu Bank opposite the junction of Creating a public artwork is an unrivalled opportunity to explore the nexus of place and social identity. The Belconnen Arts Centre public artwork is expected to express themes relevant to Belconnen and to mark the Belconnen Arts Centre as a place for community and for celebration. The artwork is intended to be a way finding element in a key public space linking the Belconnen Town Centre with the Belconnen Art Centre and the Artists need only submit professional documentation and information on previous projects to be considered. Up to four artists will be selected for stage 2 of the EOI process. Each stage 2 shortlisted artist will be paid $1,650 GST inclusive to provide a written response to the selection criteria and to prepare concept designs for presentation to the Evaluation Team. The commission is valued at $178,000 + GST.
