The ACT Chief Minister and Minister for The Arts and Heritage, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA, announced the recipients of the 2009 ACT Creative Arts Fellowships, the 2008 ACT Poetry Prize and the 2008 ACT Book of the Year Award on 16 December 2008.

The 2008 ACT Book of the Year Award (valued at $10,000) has been taken out by       Tony Kevin, for Walking the Camino: a modern pilgrimage to Santiago

The 2008 ACT Poetry Prize's Judith Wright Prize (valued at $10,000) for a published collection by an Australian poet has been won by Victorian poet Barry Hill, for       Necessity - Poems 1996-2006.

The 2008 ACT Poetry Prize's Alec Bolton Prize (valued at $5,000) for an unpublished manuscript by an Australian poet has been won by Dr David Musgrave, from NSW, for 'Phantom Limb'.
