Poetry in ACTION
Commencing in 2007, Poetry in ACTION is a joint initiative between artsACT and ACTION buses and is one of the most broad-reaching poetry projects in Canberra - taking poetry to thousands of bus commuters each day.
Poetry in ACTION celebrates the work of local poets, promotes the ACT Poetry Prize and makes riding public transport an enriching and enjoyable experience!
Former ACT Chief Minister and Minister for the Arts and Heritage, Jon Stanhope MLA, launched a new round of Poetry in ACTION on 5 April 2011 at the London Circuit bus-stop, adjacent to Civic Square. Seven award-winning ACT poets were commissioned in 2011 to write poetry for display in the interiors of ACTION buses.
