Life Boat/Thuyen Cuu Roi is constructed from an old wooden boat which came from Hoi An in Vietnam. The arms/oars are carved from recycled timber and coated with lacquer using traditional Vietnamese techniques. In the artist's words "Life Boat/Thuyen Cuu Roi seeks to embody ocean journeys of courage and compassion".
