Belconnen Arts Centre

Belconnen Arts Centre

Belconnen Arts Centre opened in 2009 with the objective of being the centre of arts and cultural activity in Belconnen. The Centre is operated by a small team of staff supported by a number of volunteers who together present a broad program of events to engage the community, in Belconnen and beyond. The Centre hosts a program of outstanding events including exhibitions, creative workshops, dance, concert, markets and festivals.

Belconnen Arts Centre was the winner of an ACT Chief Minister's Inclusion Award in 2010, 2012 and 2013 and strives to offer an environment that is accessible and engaging to all.

Belconnen Arts Centre continues to be the home of fun, creativity and expression in the Belconnen region. The facility is owned by the ACT Government and managed by Belconnen Arts Centre Incorporated.

Belconnen Arts Centre Stage 2

The ACT Government is investing $15 million over three years for the expansion of Belconnen Arts Centre. The expansion will include a unique multi-use performance/town hall space, new dance/rehearsal studio, new exhibition space, and a new café. The project will provide the community with more opportunities to engage with the arts through expanded facilities at the community focused Belconnen Arts Centre.

Canberra based company PBS Building has been appointed to build stage two. Construction works will begin mid-late 2018, and is expected to take 18 months, with completion in late 2019.
