The artsACT Artist Database aims to connect businesses or individuals looking to engage local artists for paid opportunities.
The database is not a comprehensive list of artists within the ACT and artists self-nominate to be included on this platform. Parties interested in engaging an artist's services should reach out to the artist directly to discuss opportunities. Artists and businesses should refer to the Remuneration Principles and Practices for Artists and Arts Workers when negotiating contracts.
Reductions available for licensed businesses that showcase artists
If you are a licensed business that regularly showcases musicians, artists and creatives, you may be eligible for a reduction in your annual liquor licence fee. Visit the Access Canberra website to learn more about how to apply.
Self-nominating to appear on the Database
A nomination form must be submitted online through SmartyGrants.
Eligibility
The database is for professional artists with an ACT-based practice. If you reside outside of the ACT, you must provide a statement demonstrating that your practice is primarily based in Canberra. For more information and guidance on what to include in your statement refer to page 7 of the Arts Activities Guidelines.
