Notice of Removal – Timber totems
On Thursday 22 August 2024, all six timber totems that form part of this public artwork were removed on the recommendation of a structural engineer. The timber had extensive cracking and decay and some of the totems were no longer stable. The future of the timber totems will be decided in consultation with the artists.
This work contributes to a recreational and ceremonial place that is intended to encourage a locally-focussed, ongoing process of reconciliation between Aboriginal and non–Aboriginal people in the region.
